Employees, customers must wear masks in Starkville businesses

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) – All businesses in Starkville that are open to the public must require all employees and most customers to wear a mask or face covering.

This applies to people who are over the age of 6. The restriction began Tuesday morning at 8:00 and will end on May 11 at 8 a.m.

The businesses will supervise employees and customers to make sure they enter businesses with masks.

Mississippi’s safer-at-home order went into effect at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 27. The order eases restrictions on businesses and allows some non-essential businesses to reopen with safety measures. The order will expire on May 11.

The city’s general curfew remains in effect through May 11 at 5 a.m.

If the state government extends the time frame in its safer-at-home order, then Starkville’s curfew will also be extended. However, the city can make changes or amendments to the curfew at any time.
